ANNUAL MEETING INFORMATION
The Annual Meeting of the Members of the Margaritaville Vacation Owners Association will be held on December 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM, in the Activities Center of the Club Wyndham Cypress Palms Resort, located at 5324 Fairfield Lake Dr., Kissimmee, FL 34746. If you plan to attend the meeting, please register using the below link. There is no online option for watching the meeting this year.
Election of Directors
There is an election of one (1) director at this year's meeting. With only one nomination received in advance of the deadline, Mr. Gui De Faria has been elected by acclamation for a 3-year term.
Board Nominations
Interested in serving on the Board of Directors?
All Members in good standing (current on all Maintenance Fees) are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. Members may submit their nomination via the website listed below. To be placed on the ballot, your nomination must be received no later than October 1st of each election year.
What are the qualifications to serve on Board of Directors?
Pursuant to the Association's Bylaws, the qualifications to serve on the Board of Directors are as follows:
- You must be in good standing. In other words, you must be current on your maintenance fees; and
- You must have prior experience on a governing board of a for-profit or non-profit corporation; and
- Prior experience reading financial statements and working with budgets in excess of $10 million is preferred.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Those nominees who meet the qualifications will be placed on the ballot.
What happens if you're elected?
If elected, you will be expected to participate in three or more Board Meetings each year. Board Meetings are conducted via teleconference / Zoom. You will also be expected to attend the Annual Meeting of the Association in person. Directors are not compensated; provided, however, that in accordance with the Association's Reimbursement Policy, a Director may be reimbursed for the reasonable costs of any travel, meals, accommodations, or related expenses incurred by such Director in order to attend an Association meeting.

Important Notice:
Effective January 1, 2024, property owners associations must comply with the beneficial ownership information reporting requirements within a new US federal law called the Corporate Transparency Act (31 U.S.C. 5336). As such, upon election to the board of directors, you will be required to obtain and provide to association management an ID number provided by the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This ID number will be utilized by association management to ensure that the beneficial ownership information of the association is up to date with FinCEN and in compliance with the Corporate Transparency Act.
To obtain a FinCEN ID number, you must submit certain personal information to FinCEN, including your name, date of birth, residential mailing address, and a copy of a driver’s license or passport. Please consider this board member obligation as you decide whether to submit your nomination. Failure to comply with this federal reporting requirement can result in financial and criminal penalties to the board members and the association.
